Pumpkin Festival Information
Buckelew Farm will be having its 22nd annual Pumpkin Festival and Corn Maze the last four weekends in October and Halloween Night 2010. This is a fall event that appeals to the young and the young at heart. The festival offers the chance to take a tractor-drawn wagon ride into the field to pick your own pumpkin and the Corn Maze will challenge the adventuresome.
A typical day at the Pumpkin Festival starts when the gate opens at 10:00am. A $4.00 per person admission price (children in diapers are free) will include your tractor-drawn wagon rides to and from the pumpkin patch. The tractor will pull your wagon into the field where you can search for the perfect pumpkin, whether your intent is a scary jack-o-lantern or a mouth-watering pie. The wagons will return you to the tent area after your selection is complete. Local youths will assist you with the weighing of your pumpkins and then help you transport them to your car. The pumpkins are 45 cents per pound and we also have a variety of gourds for sale. Additional festivities of the day include the challenge of our 11-acre corn maze, browsing through the arts & crafts tent, festival games, feeding the animals at the 4-H petting zoo and the pedal cart race track. After working up a hearty appetite you will be able to satisfy that hunger with a wide variety of food items including hamburgers, corn on-the-cob, Indian Fry Bread and homemade pumpkin pie.
